PRIVACY

Your privacy on Book Life

The short version: we collect only what the game needs, we never sell anything, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.

What we collect

  • Your account — email address, your first and last name (or the name your Google/Facebook account shares), and a scrambled password (email sign-up only).
  • Your progress — quiz scores, achievements, coins, world position, quests, and battles, so the game can save where you're up to.
  • Things you send us — feedback messages, book requests, and battle chats.
  • Technical bits — your browser type and which pages you visit, via our own analytics (see below).

What we do with it

  • Run the game: remember your progress, match you with battles, show your achievements.
  • Make Book Life better: fix bugs, understand which books and features people use.
  • Reply to your feedback and book requests.

We never sell or share your personal information with anyone. We don't show you ads.

Signing in with Google or Facebook

If you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Facebook", those companies tell us your name and email address so we can create or link your account. They don't get your Book Life progress, and we don't see your password. You can always sign in with email and password instead.

Note for families: Facebook requires its users to be 13 or older, so Facebook sign-in is intended for parents and teachers. Students are welcome to use Google or an email account.

Analytics and cookies

We run our own privacy-friendly analytics (Umami) on our own server — it counts visits and events like "Quiz Complete" without tracking you across other websites. Your sign-in is kept in a small session cookie on your device; it goes away when you sign out.

Children's privacy

Book Life is made for young readers. We collect only what the game needs, we never target advertising at children, and battles and chats are between players who already know each other. Parents and guardians can review or delete their child's data at any time — just contact us.

Your choices

  • Update your name — it comes from your account details.
  • Hide books — My Books lets you take any book off your shelf.
  • Delete everything — contact us and we'll delete your account and all progress.

Questions about privacy? Leave us a message — we read every one.
